Many years ago one of our adult children asked for 12 solid color fused glass 8" plates of different colors and that is when it all started. From there we added dinner plates, bowls and mini bowls. At times we have not been able to keep up with the demand. Mixing and matching tableware of multiple colors is festive and enhances any table. In our home the grandchildren have their favorite color. Currently we have discontinued making the dinner plates 11" due to increased glass prices. Some people love the mini bowls (cuties) and buy them for small gifts because of their multiple uses.
The process to make them is cutting an opalescent base color and adding a translucent tint or clear on top resulting in many choices of luscious colors. It goes into the kiln for two cycles, one on a plate mold. All tableware is very durable and dishwasher safe. A mild dish washer soap is preferable.
